Prep & Pantry - Inventory Manager app good for
I tried several pantry apps but Prep&Pantry is the best. Im using this app since about 6 months now. The developer is open for suggestions and reacts very fast.
First off, this app is great. Simple to use, all the features you want and they work. If you live outside the US, which I do, you can change the UPC scanner database to work with your products. Everything that I have scanned comes up! You can add a picture to the item and tag it by category and put it in a specific location, ( Pantry, Cold room, garage, etc), also set expire date etc. The developer is actively updating the app and answered all of my questions about the app right away, which was really helpful. I have wasted money on many storage apps looking for one like this, too bad I did not come across this first! Great work!
This has become one of my favorite organizing type app that Ive used to date! I do wish however that there was some sort of link with the app & the UPC database. If your scanner doesnt read a particular barcode & you find it in the database, you still have to manually enter the barcode in the app. It would be fantastic if there was some sort of link where the info from the database gets transferred to the app. Another thing that I think would be extremely useful is that our manual entries be put directly into the app database for all of us to share. That way the app database will grow that much quicker!! I give this 5 stars.. It does take a lot of work in the beginning in order for your own database to be filled with the products that you use buy totally worth it! Thank you very much for creating it!
Just bought this app and Im loving it. It definitely will keep me organized with my food.
Would love to be able to look up recipes with the food I already have.
I really like this app, just downloaded it and had a question for the app support. Got an email back within 2 hours from the designer of the app with really helpful information. This is a great app to inventory your household items and groceries, I will be saving a lot of money I know already! The cost of the app might frighten you but if you think of the duplicates you already buy when you have an impulse to buy something youll get that money back right away
I have the same problem as the previous reviewer. I have just spent the past FOUR DAYS updating my pantry. Now, every time I try to access the app, it blinks out and crashes. Otherwise, i love it. Please fix ASAP,!!!!!
Some bad moments
I downloaded the lite version, played with it, even went to the developer site to read up on it a bit more, and then did the in-app purchase to Pro. Since I wanted to sync between two devices I downloaded it on the iPhone using the Purchased tab. Since I downloaded the already purchased Lite version, when I tried to set up synching, I was told I needed Pro so I did the Restore option. Still having sync problems trying to create a Group, I checked out Facebook to see if there was a group there. There was. And thats when I learned there is no support. Emails havent been answered since the update in early 2015. The sync has never worked, no one can create a Group. I decided to contact Apple to get my refund but before I could find time, I got the bill -- for two copies!! Ive been charged for the pro version on both the iPad and the iPhone. The developer must be laughing.
Had app for several years and it worked awesome. Since the last update in June 2016 the app now crashes upon opening and I am unable to access my database. Emailed customer support and a month later still no response. Not impressed.
It appears the developer has abandoned this app. Which is a shame as there was good potential with it. I had looked at dozens of other Apps and this one seemed to be the most useful of the bunch.
Update 5-30-16 - support no longer responds, get error message that server isnt connected. Unusable because server is needed to scan in items that need to search for the barcode name.
Good software, love that Im able to scan in and out of inventory, love that it automatically creates a grocery list and can e-mail it to myself. I do wish that when I save the csv file to my computer thru itunes that it would include the tag associated with the inventoried item or even if the cart would let me sort the items by tag and then e-mail it to myself would be great. It would help me sort the list so I could be more organized when I get to the grocery store. Overall very happy with this purchase, have had no problems with the app.

Ive been waiting for an update for Pantry in hopes that I might sync up all the info Id put on my iPad version with my phone, and so use it while shopping--what did I need to restock the pantry.
I was delighted to find that I could finally create a sync on my phone.
Unfortunately, the update causes the app on my iPad to crash. Every time I try to open it, it vanishes. Frustrating to say the least, because NOW I cant sync the phone/pad AND I cant get all at all the info I put on the pad. I sure hope this gets fixed fast.
I so wanted a good pantry organizing app, and I thought this was the one. It could be so good if theyd just get past these issues.
This is a great app for inventory and organizing. I use this for my business and it saves me a lot of headaches when it comes to my stock being out of date.
With that said, the app had not worked in over 3 weeks! It crashes upon opening. This is extremely frustrating when your job relies on you being able to rotate stock before it goes out of date.
I have emailed the company numerous times to get answers and no one has yet to return 1 of them.
It is a shame because I have tried almost all the inventory apps out there and this is the best, when it works.
